USCCA Women's Handgun & Self Defense Fundamentals
Curriculum Description: USCCA’s “Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals” is a welcoming and engaging training guide created by a woman for women who are seeking to begin, improve upon, or add to their firearms skills. With three distinct modules (Women's Basic Pistol, Women's Intermediate Pistol, and Women's Defensive Pistol), this course is designed to reach students who are brand new to firearms and those who are ready to learn more about defensive shooting. Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon, while also exploring situational awareness, common types of handguns, ammunition types, malfunctions, firearms handling skills, defensive pistol fundamentals, and the use of deadly force. Whether you’ve never touched a firearm, you’re looking for the next steps in your training, or you’ve chosen to learn about the skills, tools, and mindset needed to use firearms for self-defense, you can be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips and techniques from experienced women in the world of firearms.
Basic Pistol
This is a 3.5 -4 hour class for women, taught by a woman! Learn the essential fundamentals to safe gun handling. Start in the classroom then move to the range to practice what you have learned. This is a great class for beginners or for those that need a refresher class. Instructor is NRA & USCCA certified. If you need a firearm, no worries! We will loan you one - you just pay for the ammunition. If you don't have eye or ear protection, we can provide that for no fee.

Intermediate Pistol
Revolvers Versus Semi-Automatics, Universal Safety Rules Review, Form and Function, Advantages and Disadvantages, Size and Weight Comparisons, Choosing the Right Gun, Bullets and Ballistics, Cycles of Operation, Common Malfunctions, Holsters and Concealed Carry, Inside the Hip or Waist, Concealed Carry Bag, Outside the Waistband, Bra or Underarm, Leg (Thigh or Ankle), Just the Facts, Ma'am, Establishing Boundaries, Color Codes of Awareness, Survivor Mindset, Shooting Fundamentals Review, Putting It Into Practice, Loading and Unloading, Reloading, Multiple Shots, Multiple Targets, One-Handed Shooting, Clearing Malfunctions. Defensive Pistol
